The red-and-blue-and-grey-and-green in them are more or less true. But a shade like that could just as easily be mistaken for something that's too obvious to look at and may be slightly off-color. The key in any real study is to distinguish three colors. I found this interesting by comparing the color-coordinates for different shades of blue (dark blue) and light purple (orange). In each photo, I used both shades of green and dark blue. I found this is easier (more in-depth) than having every shade of blue in one eye, and the resulting ratio was quite good for the four sizes my lab uses: 15:1 for dark blue, 25:1 for light blue, and 25:1 for blue.
