My experience in this case is that the color change during this time of day was quite pronounced. This is due to some water in the air which can then be absorbed and the water eventually gets to your skin.
While doing this you may notice different skin-color patterns during the day and have more light coming through your eyes at night which might be interpreted as lightening. This isn't all, however. Sometimes your skin changes the pattern of its normal coloring depending on how much light is coming in through the eyes.
