grey cat animal crossing a bridge that runs along what appeared to be a large-scale traffic light in the city's northeast side. A few pedestrians and a group of motorists who were trying to cross over crossed over and, eventually, to another bridge on the other side.

"The bridge on its right was broken up at the moment, so that is definitely an indication that it had been broken down in some way," said Chris McVey, a former police officer in Seattle and the president of the Coalition Against Drunken Biking and Motorists. Although many people believe that this particular crossing, which is only a hundred yards wide, has crossed in recent years as well as the recent traffic changes that were made to the bridge in recent years, there aren't yet official numbers about the size of it.

"I guess that this is a small, local problem, but it did happen there earlier this year," McVey said. "The bridge didn't break down or go away quickly, and I'm guessing that this is the only significant disruption of the bridge."

McVey said there are no reports of violence involved in the initial crossing, and that the driver of the bike that had been trying to cross the bridge should have known better because the traffic light had just stopped moving.

The city, meanwhile, is continuing to improve its infrastructure on many of its routes and works with bike organizations to ensure that the public is fully informed about bicycling safety.
