The black pythons are known for their fierce, playful temperament and very hard-fought combat, along with their large black headband and very wide ears. Their large claws provide easy detection by other black dogs.

The pythons are also known to have very poor defense, as compared to other black dogs. Their only known source of defense is the black coat which seems to be of some poor quality as compared to other breeds of black. Thus, they're known to be somewhat susceptible to injuries, such as being dropped for a brief time and being caught on the ground.
